Well, according to a popular magazine online, international superstar, Jennifer Lopez repeats this daily affirmation to herself every day :
J.Lo says she feels “this positive self-talk in your head really does create a beautiful person on the inside who maintains a beautiful person on the outside.”
She’s not alone in her thinking about positive self-talk ….
Globally Acclaimed Therapist Marisa Peer Is Also A Believer Of Positive Self-Talk
Globally acclaimed therapist and best-selling author and award winning speaker Marisa Peer, has been a long-term advocate of encouraging us to write empowering statements on our mirrors with our lipstick!
She says “it’s a simple transformational technique that anyone can do to help overcome even their greatest challenges.”
Marisa Peer goes on to ask :
“When you look in the mirror, what do you see? What do you focus your attention on? What words do you tell yourself and what images go through your mind? ….
“I am amazing?
” I am beautiful?”
“I am enough?”
If you’re like most people, you probably focus in on what you perceive to be your flaws.
You’ll see things that no one else even notices and feel self-conscious as a result.
How harshly are you judging yourself and your own features?”
So how about taking up Marisa’s suggestion of using your lipstick to mark up your mirror with a positive statement that really resonates and inspires you.

You could choose to write on your mirror J.Lo’s message : “I’m youthful and timeless at every age”
or write one of Marisa’s messages: “I am amazing”, “I am beautiful”, “I am enough”
Or, of course, create your very own personal “mantra” that’s preferable to you.
Then, every time you glance at yourself in your mirror, just repeat your chosen “mantra” and see how confident that makes you feel?
Go on, give it a try – it really works!

More Nuggets Of Wisdom From J.Lo
- “ageless isn’t just a mindset — you can feel youthful at any age and feel great.”
- her Mom used to say “Olive Oil was the cure all for everything” – so she’s a big believer in using olive oil in her beauty regime.
- J.Lo’s not a fan of Botox. A friend of hers tried to encourage her to use it when she was 23. She decided not to and added “I just wonder what would’ve happened to me if I would’ve started Botox at 23, what I would look like right now. My face would be a totally different face today!
- She encourages everyone from the age of 15 to wear sunscreen everyday.
- And another philosophical message from J.Lo:
“You never want to hear you look great for 50.
You just want to hear you look great, no matter what age you are.
And for me and for the company, that is a big part of it.
We don’t want people going, you look great for 60, 50, 40, 35.
We want people to just go, wow, you look amazing. “
Well we can’t argue with that statement!
So, remind me, what was J.Lo’s “mantra” again?
Repeat after me ….
“I’m youthful and timeless at every age, I’m youthful and timeless at every age,
I’m youthful and timeless at every age.”
J.Lo
That’s all from the gorgeous J.Lo for the moment.

How You Can Turn Your Body Clock Back From The Inside Out?
We’ve already read in countless magazines the standard advice ….
- Drink lots of water.
- Get plenty of sleep.
- Avoid stress.
- Take regular exercise.
But one of the most important things we can do is:
– eat the right healthy foods.
Here’s 7 Of The Best Anti-Ageing Foods You’ll Love
1. Berries
Do you prefer strawberries, blackberries, blueberries – or a handful of all of them?
Berries are perfect to snack on and they are great for your skin!
They are high in antioxidants and may delay cell damage.
And that’s not all! – They are so powerful, they help to reduce joint swelling and pain.
Blueberries, in particular are know to improve cognitive abilities and help prevent diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
2. Dark Chocolate
Over 300 scientific studies have shown that dark chocolate prevents and reverses heart disease.
Dark chocolate decreases the amount of calcified plaque that clogs arteries, by reducing high blood pressure, by boosting good HDL cholesterol and reducing LDL, and helping prevent heart attacks, strokes and heart failure.
Apparently it even cuts the risk of dying from heart disease in half.
And boosts brain function.
Well if ever you needed enough excuses to indulge is some delicious, healthy dark chocolate – you’ve just been given them!
Be forewarned: not all dark chocolate is created equal.
To get more bang in your bar, reach for dark chocolate with a cocoa percentage of 70% or higher. (More cocoa equals more flavonoids.)
Chocolate, cocoa, or cacao should appear first on the ingredient list, which means there’s the most of it by weight.
If sugar is first on the list or you see words you can’t pronounce, steer clear, or you’ll likely be pumping yourself full of empty calories and fillers, which negate all the good stuff, says Lisa R. Young, Ph.D., R.D.N., an adjunct professor of nutrition at New York University and the author of Finally Full, Finally Slim.
3. Avocado
In the words of the great David “Avocado Wolfe” :
“Avocado is a superfood that contains healthy fats.
Eating just one avocado a day can reduce your cholesterol levels and support the process of skin regeneration.
Avocados provide your body with Vitamin C, potassium and antioxidants, which can help keep your skin looking young and healthy!”
And there’s more ….
They’re made up of :
- multi-tasking omega-3s to fight inflammation and help burn fat.
- gut-healing, heart-healthy fiber.
- essential vitamins and minerals to nurture your whole body.
- important antioxidants that fight ageing and disease.
- vitamin E, iron, potassium & niacin.
- healthy oil – unique amongst fruits in that it contains oil – but most of it is the good, monosaturated type.
Although avocado is technically a fruit, the mild-flavoured avocado is used as a vegetable.
Native to central America, there are four main varieties:
- Hass (considered to be the best), which has a dark, knobbly skin;
- the pear-shaped, smooth-skinned Ettinger
- and Fuerte (of which a tiny, baby-sized variety is also available);
- and the more spherical Nabal.
4. Citrus Fruits
You may already know that citrus fruits are a primary source of Vitamin C.
That’s why we all reach out for our hot lemon and honey at the first sign of a sniffle!
Citrus fruits also contain folic acid – important for the functioning of the nervous systems of all ages and aids mental function.
Grapefruit, oranges and other citrus fruits can help decrease cholesterol levels in the body and uric acid in the blood.
Consuming them regularly will help prevent circulatory problems and heart conditions.
Top Tip!
Drink lemon juice first thing in the morning – it allows your body to absorb all of it’s nutrients while detoxing your body!
5. Turmeric
- anti-inflammatory properties.
- anti-cancer.
- may slow or prevent blood clots.
- reduces depression symptoms.
- boosts skin health.
- it’s strong anti-inflammatory and pain-reducing characteristics, means it’s a great help for arthritis sufferers.
- helps the liver to efficiently detoxify the body.
And, of course, Turmeric slows down the ageing process by providing your body with energy and it boosts your mood at times of stress!
So, now you’ve learnt about many of the benefits, you might want to add Turmeric when you cook.
Or if you decide to go for an easier option, you might want to take a Turmeric supplement.
6. Leafy Green Vegetables

They taste wonderful.
You can use them in a smoothie or a salad.
They are so versatile and can be cooked several ways: roast, boil, steam, stir-fry or braised.
