The reality of working from home for some is :
- Other people assuming that you working from your home office might mean to them that you’re “not really working today.”
- Not to mention family walking in, talking loudly and interrupting your “zoom” calls!
- Extended family and friends think your “flexible” schedule means they can drop by and visit or randomly call you throughout the day.
- Also, before you know it, you’re the “chief in charge” of the majority of household chores, including loading and unloading the dishwasher for the umpteenth time!
- Maybe you’re nearest to the door – so you’re the one lumbered with answering the door and signing for yet another online delivery on behalf of another family member.
- And if you’re a “social being” who thrives off the energy of others. You might find that working from home can be lonely and not such a good choice after all, regardless of all it’s benefits.

So why would anyone want to use those? Maybe they don’t know any better.
They could be products that you spray, wipe and scrub with all over your home, in places where you and your family live and sleep everyday.
These potentially dangerous chemicals could be making their way into your body ….
Be it by you breathing them in, or via your hand-to-eye or hand-to-mouth contact.
This is especially true for young children who crawl and explore with their hands.

What About Indoor Air Quality – Does It Matter?
Whether you’re sleeping, bingeing on Netflix or working out at home, that time spent indoors exposes us to indoor air pollution from :
- furnishings
- carpet
- upholstery
- dry-cleaned clothing
- paint

You wouldn’t think your coffee table could emit gasses, but if it’s made of particleboard, it does.
Volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) like formaldehyde can also be released from paint on your walls and your furniture upholstery.
Levels of VOC’s are typically two to five times higher than outside.
For people who are highly sensitive or when ventilation is not good, it can make them feel sick.
This is recognised as something called “sick building syndrome”.
